Greetings all…And welcome!

Thanks for stopping by to check out this new selection of old relics being released for the first time. You may be wondering what the heck I'm talking about!!

Let me explain.

During the last couple of years, as I began to endeavor to write, record, and release my recent EP, "What You Left Behind.” I did a lot of digging into old boxes and found old songs and demos that I realized were still laying around from years back when I first started writing and recording songs in a serious manner.

As it turned out, there were a few tracks that I had written that ended up never seeing the light of day and never getting finished over the last 40 years.

As I dug through the dusty piles of old recordings that I had accumulated during the early 80s, I came to realize that there were songs that I still really like and regretted leaving them behind. After taking a few listens, I thought these still had merit. I decided to bring them to life and set them free!

I feel it necessary to point out a few caveats with regards to these tracks. First, technology in the 1980s was very different than it is now. These "dusty demos "are essentially just that; songs I wrote “back in the day”when I was about 18 years old working on neanderthal, simple, but functional technology, and learning how to make it all happen. My recent EP, "What You Left Behind"was recorded and produced on today's equipment by my friend, the highly talented professional producer, Timothy Drury. I think you would agree that that record sounds fantastic. The old songs were recorded on eight track, two track, and even cassettes in bedrooms and bathrooms and other strange places in Malibu and Santa Monica. Where I called home at the time.

These recordings sat idle and moth-balled, collecting dust for over 40 years.

My new producer, Cole Brandt, also happens to be my very talented son! Cole and I spent considerable time and effort remastering the old tracks to bring them back to life while retaining their innocence and simplicity.

Now that I’ve rediscovered these tracks, it feels like their still worthy of a listen. As you might expect, my voice at age 18 was quite different than it is today, but I hope you'll agree that the songs stand on their own. Overall, with a little polishing, they sound pretty darn good!

Lastly, I would welcome your thoughts, reactions, cheers, jeers, chuckles, or whatever you have to throw my way. And if you find any of the tunes worthy, I'd sure appreciate you forwarding a link or posting about them. I’d certainly love to welcome you to my posse! You can join my mailing list on my website at erictbrandt.com. I’ll do my best to stay engaged and keep you up-to-date with my thoughts and musings, and of course, my music.

I send you all gobs of gratitude and best wishes as you continue on your journeys.

All the best, Eric T.
